BABY ACCESSORIES FOR TOILET ROOMS

1.4 SUBMITTALS

1.5 FIELD MEASUREMENTS
A. Verify locations of supporting structure are in
compliance with manufacturer's requirements.
1.6 WARRANTY
A. Submit manufacturer's limited five-year warranty on
materials and workmanship.
B. Include one-year replacement warranty against vandalism
or natural disaster.

2.2 BABY CHANGING STATIONS
NOTE ** Coordinate materials listed below with project
requirements.
A. Materials: Molded high impact polyethylene, reinforced
with steel-on-steel hinges and 10-gage steel mounting
supports; gas shock mechanism designed to lift door from
open position and brake to prevent trapping fingers.
B. Materials: 16-gage Type 304 stainless steel,
architectural satin finish, reinforced with steel-on-
steel hinges and 10-gage steel mounting supports; gas
shock mechanism designed to lift door from open position
and brake to prevent trapping fingers.
NOTE ** Koala Bear Kare Baby Changing Stations delight
parents and protect children. Select one or more of
the following styles for installation in public
restrooms for both sexes.
NOTE **
NOTE ** The horizontal design was created for areas with
narrow passageways. It extends no more than four
inches from wall when closed and only 20 inches
when opened.
NOTE **
NOTE ** The vertical design requires only 22 inches of
horizontal wall space and can be mounted over the
commode or in the wash area.
NOTE **
NOTE ** Factory-installed locks to secure stations from
vandalism are optional.

2.3 CHILD PROTECTION SEATS
NOTE ** The Koala Bear Kare Child Protection seat provides
peace of mind for parents by allowing them to seat
their baby safely in the restroom stall or fitting
room with them. The compact design fits into the
smallest stalls, extending less than 6 inches when
the seat is folded closed. Coordinate materials
listed below with project requirements
A. Materials: Molded high impact polyethylene.
B. Materials: 16-gage Type 304 stainless steel.
C. Design: Provide folding seat engineered to withstand
static load of up to 150 pounds, with seat and back
concave molded and tilted backward slightly for safety.
Equip seat with child protection straps and snap lock
fasteners.
2.4 ACCESSORIES
A. Fasteners: Provide each baby accessory with all hardware
required for secure installation to various substrates.
B. Signs: Provide metal sign for installation on restroom
door with each baby accessory.
PART 3 EXECUTION
3.1 EXAMINATION
A. Verify that site conditions are ready to receive
accessories and dimensions are in compliance with
manufacturer's instructions.
B. Verify that all components necessary for proper
installation are available.
3.2 INSTALLATION
A. Comply with manufacturer's printed instructions, except
where more stringent requirements are mandated by
governing authorities, and except where project
conditions require extra precautions or provisions.
B. Locate baby changing stations and child protection seats
to eliminate interference with door swings or use of
fixtures in compliance with ADA compliance.
NOTE ** Edit paragraphs below to conform to project
conditions.
C. At stud walls, verify that at least one side of changing
station is located so fasteners will be installed
directly into stud. If stud spacing is other than 16
inches on center, use toggles for installation at
opposite side.
D. At solid masonry walls, drill pilot holes for
installation of expansion-type fasteners.
E. At toilet partitions, use through-bolt fasteners for
installation of child protection seat.
F. Install metal sign on restroom door, using double-stick
tape or corrosion-resistant screws.
3.3 CLEANING AND ADJUSTING
A. Upon completion of installation, clean all surfaces that
have become soiled during installation.
B. Fill built-in dispenser in baby changing stations with
sanitary bed liners.
